After graduating from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications (where he met his future wife and Sapling’s COO), he got his feet wet as a project manager at a video post-production facility. Then, channeling his entrepreneurial spirit—he owned a DJ business at age 14—he launched an independent producing career focusing on marketing and promotions for Discovery Channel, truTV, National Geographic, Animal Planet and TLC.
With the credentials and experience of working for broadcast television, Keith put his skills to use in other arenas as Sapling expanded. Both a creative and strategic thinker, he’s led initiatives on diverse projects. He produced the weekly on-air promotions for Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch, which became the highest-rated series on cable television. He promoted Mythbusters, Impractical Jokers and Doomsday Preppers; created fundraising videos for the National Park Foundation and Children’s National Hospital; and social media campaigns for Marriott International and the National Education Association.
He currently serves as the VP of Media Production for the Museum of Science Fiction, a 501(c)(3) organization working to establish the world’s most comprehensive science fiction museum in Washington, D.C. He’s taught writing and directing courses for Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging Arts (CDIA) and he’s produced a number of short independent films that have screened in festivals all over the world.
